VIP are cycles of lessons on Values – Improvisation – Presentation.
Each VIP cycle starts with a value topic such as love, forgiveness or positive attitude. Students are then encouraged to write stories from their own experience based on the value discussed in class.
This course will improve proficiency in speaking and listening in a variety of communication settings; and develop an understanding of speaker and listener responsibilities in today's world within the context of values.
This value-based storytelling has been one of the significant ways that culture passes on important values from one generation to the next. By using stories when explaining who they are students experience a more meaningful way of learning. A point that is often overlooked is that the purpose of sharing your story is to connect with your audience. Interpersonal communication as a delivery mechanism engages young minds and promotes learning.
