Violet founded the Inclusive Business Lab & Inclusive Business Foundation, aiming to build a diversified ecosystem for creating inclusive opportunities and developing the next generation of purpose-driven, ethical & global minded leaders of tomorrow. Since its inception in the fall of 2014, the program has impacted more than fifteen thousand young people in Greater China, Asia, UK and Japan, and expects to benefit more than 250,000 next generation and training more than 25,000 trainers globally in the coming years.
Violet received PhD in Mathematics from University of Cambridge, where she was a Croucher Foundation Scholar and was a Supervisor of Studies at Fitzwilliam College. After her PhD in 1997, she took up a University Lectureship teaching Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Manchester (UMIST). From 1998 to 2011, she worked for investment banks in London, New York, Hong Kong, incl. Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Tokyo-Mitsubishi International, specializing in strategic investments, portfolio allocation & capital management for financial institutions, insurance companies, pension funds in UK, Europe, USA, Pan-Asia (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia).
She has served as an advisor & board director for a micro-finance company in China, Guest Professor at Beijing Normal University School of Social Development & Public Policy, and currently serves as an Honorary Principal for Jiangsu Province Dagang High School in China. She also serves as an executive leadership coach and runs leadership roundtables for business leaders, government officials as well as professors, principals, teachers and student leaders. Violet has been a guest speaker for international conferences and workshops in Asia, Europe, UK and USA.
