Kelly is currently a year-2 Bachelor of Science student studying in HKU, majoring in Food and Nutritional Science, and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. She has developed her interest in science since she was a primary student. She is fascinated by all disciplines of science, including Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, and Biology. The ever-changing needs of the society, particularly in disease prevention and recovery, has encouraged her to study nutrition and biotechnology at university.
Her life goal is to devote herself to the global community, especially in public health and food safety. This has led her to join the IBL summer internship as IBL is a global community that nurtures young people in terms of their leadership and interpersonal skills through a variety of training programs and campaigns to provide an ecosystem for business and address poverty.
As a Science student, she is fond of doing research and having discovery. She joined the HKU School of Nursing as a research assistant in a smoking cessation program, which is also a social service program that encourages smokers to quit smoking. Engaging in social services is another goal of hers besides academic pursuits. She aims at utilizing her scientific knowledge in volunteer work such as delivering health messages to the public.
